Children’s Books About Creativity

I’ve gotten a bit behind in posting my weekly virtues living books that I am reading with my kids so I’m going to try to get caught up in the next few days with it. The homeschool days go by so fast and sometimes I feel like I’m spinning my wheels trying to keep up!

For tonight I’ll post about Creativity – as defined by Linda Kavelin Popov in her book The Family Virtues Guide and the books I’ve read with my kids this week that feature creative characters who come up with creative solutions to problems.

“You are a new creation. No one has ever been born who is just like you, with your special combination of gifts and talents. Creativity is a way to use your gifts to bring new things into the world. Creativity is a way to use the spark of God within you.

Creativity is expressing new ideas and inventions, new kinds of music, dance, and art. It is a way to let the light of originality within you shine out for the benefit of others. Creativity connects us with beauty.

Creativity is the power of imagination. It is seeing old things in new ways, doing things in a way that has not been done before.”

Living books that include creative characters and solutions.
